Myticalins evolutionary tree
Evolutionary tree of myticalins
The evolutionary tree of myticalins has been created by using Archaeopteryx.js, a Javascript client framework used to visualize phylogenetic trees on the web (Google Sites: Archaeopteryx.js, GitHub: Archaeopteryx.js). Archaeopteryx.js makes use of the well-known D3.js JavaScript library and can read data in phyloXML and Newick formats. To see in detail the evolutionatry tree, please zoom and use a lower value for "External label size" parameter in Archaeopteryx control panel.
Methods
The multiple sequence alignment of full-length myticalin protein sequences, generated with MUSCLE and visible in the ALIGN section of this database, was used as an input for a Maximum Likelihood phylogenetic inference analysis carried out with IQ-TREE. ModelFinder identified the HIVb+G4 model of molecular evolution as the best-fitting one for the tested dataset according to the Bayesian Information Criterion. This model was implemented in the phylogenetic inference analysis which was run with 1000 ultrafast bootstrap replicates. The tree displayed here was arbitrarily rooted to highlight the monophyly of the five myticalin subfamilies.
