Genomes and sampling locations

This page reports information concerning the 35 geographical locations of sampling of the 168 individual Mytilus genomes analyzed in this study for the identification and accurate annotation of the myticalin gene sequences. Each sampling location is linked with one or more genomes, indicated with different codes, which represent different individuals belonging to the same population.

Note that the 34 out of 36 locations only included invidivuals belonging to the Mytilus species complex. For a more detailed discussion about the assignment of these individuals to the recognized species within the complex (i.e. Mytilus galloprovincialis, Mytilus edulis, Mytilus trossulus or Mytilus chilensis) the reader may read the original publications (Gerdol et al., 2020; Nascimento-Schulze et al., 2023; Simon, 2022; Corrochano-Fraile et al., 2022; Murgarella et al., 2016; Gallardo-Escarate et al., 2023; Han et al., 2024; Regan et al., 2024).

The two locations of sampling of Mytilus coruscus and Mytilus californianus are highlighted with red and yellow background, respectively.
